KadCity App

KadCity App is an initiative aimed at creating a connection between the Kaduna state government and its citizens by allowing them to play an active role in the development of their state. The Kaduna Capital Territory Authority (K.C.T.A.) approached Gada to design a brand identity that would communicate this mission clearly and appeal to the people of the state.

The Vision

A brand identity that is both innovative and meaningful to the citizens of Kaduna. The goal was to create a brand that is simple, edgy, and out-of-the-box while still remaining professional.

The Narrative

The KadCity App is not just an application; it serves as a venue for public involvement. A space where individuals get to participate in governance through reporting issues and providing feedback on the city's development.

The colour selection for the brand, loosely based off of Kaduna state's official colours and strictly adheres to KCTA's brand colours. This maintained a sense of consistency with state related portfolio/kadcity and endeavours.

The product concept stems from the idea of having citizens be on the lookout for abnormalities in their environment. Having them involved in governance gives them a “watchman” tag. This inspired the eye symbol incorporated into the logo design.

We partnered with the Kaduna state Government to bring her vision to life, giving denizens and visitors the ability to engage with the systems that could be impacting their daily lives.

In the branding process, we incorporated symbolic elements that communicate the app's essence:

  • A Person: Emphasizing that the app is built for the citizens.
  • An Eye: Representing observation and vigilance, signifying that citizens have a voice in the city”s development.

Watchman Concept: Inspired by the idea of citizens being active participants in governance, keeping an eye on their environment.
